240 Odd Overheating

well that is a ghetto fix that I personally would never do, but you can do whatever you want on your own car. That makes a weak point that WILL fail sooner or later. Whether you are the owner still when that happens...


At least the driver will just loose fluid to the point where the tranny will slip and operator will then be stuck on the side of the road instead of having a blown trans.


So did you ever get "steam" again? How is your fan doin'? ; )

I ran a line like that for several months without issue until I could find a JY replacement. You can also use a 5/16" compression fitting for a more secure/ heat resistant fix especially if the area is near the exhaust.

That line isn't pressurized...I don't see why heat resistant fuel line would fail in that location any faster than the rubber under the hood.

It won't. There are just some sections that are close to the exhaust- which might be fine. Long term, though, I'd do a compression fitting or line replacement. Just so it's out of mind.
