Default 240 rear wheel bearing replacement questions

Anyone know what the fair price is to have a shop cut the old ring and press the new bearing into place? I don't have a press, but if someone knows of another method, I'd love the advice
Is the Bentley-published 240 service manual worth the 30 bucks they want on fcp groton?
Thank you to everyone who has helped me in the past on volvoforums. I love this website.

Default Possible home-made bearing press

I was thinking I could press the new rear wheel bearing onto the axle by standing the axle up on a wood block with holes drilled to accomodate the lug studs, and sliding a length of pipe over the axle to use with a hammer to pound the bearing into place.
Does anyone see a problem with my idea?
