240 Sunroof Seal Source
I purchased my first Volvo yesterday, for the Volvo Purists you should quit reading now...it will be receiving a fuel injected LS motor in the future.. but back on track.. it is a 1988 240GL and the previous owner's mechanic was a hackjob, he decided to cover the whole entire sunroof seal in a hardy coat of rubber sealant. My question is where can I find a front and rear seal for the sunroof(from what I've read it is 2 seals correct me if I'm wrong)...I've done a bit of search but it seems no one offers a new rear seal only front..

the seal around the sunroof is just to keep wind and debris out, its not a water seal. water leaks in, and is caught by the tray around the sunroof, which has 4 drain hoses, one in each corner. when these plug up, water spills into the car. the front two drain hoses run down the A pillars and drain out just behind the front wheels, while the rear ones go down the C pillars, and join a Y connector in the trunk with the drains from the rear vent behind the back window.
I cauked the sunroof on my daughter's old 240 because it was leaking badly, and the sunroof mechanism itself was all buggered up and I didn't have the time or patience to try to fix it properly (since she's never home, lives away at college, etc).
