I'm having a real problem keeping the crank handle assembly tightened. After a period of use(over a period of weeks) the crank assembly will loosen causing the worm gear to slip and chatter. I'm afraid that this will cause undue wear on the worm/drive gear and was wondering if anyone has any tricks or repair advice on how to provide a long term fix for this?

Also, does anyone know if the seal for the sunroof is available anywhere? Mine is original and appears to have an outer fabric cover with a soft metallic inner structure. The fabric on mine has disintegrated and the internal metal is showing through in places. It's rather unsightly and I would like to replace it if possible.

 

Sounds like something is stripped or may be the screws you have there are not the right size. The seal is still available new, or try getting a used from a junkyard, U-Pull-It type is the best for those kind of parts.
