Default 240 transmission oddity

I have come to notice that some of my transmission shifts are all not uniform. I.E. some are firm and others are smoother almost Dodge grand caravan ish. Should I be worried? I know these transmissions are fairly well known for being reliable. One bit of info, the last month i had my kick down cable replaced by a non-volvo guy. Not sure if that is relevant in any way.

well, when we wore out the original AW70 on our 240, the shifts got slushier and slushier til I couldn't take it anymore and had it rebuilt. that was at around 300K miles of hard driving.

This is only like going from second gear to third gear. all the others are fine. Its not really an issue but it seems pretty early for it to be worn out. ill make a video demonstrating it.

Here is a video sorta demonstrating the issues. I am going up a fairly steep hill at about 80% throttle.

Excuse the interruption, but I'd like to know how to post a question here.

go to the main 240/740/940 forum here,
Volvo 240, 740 & 940 - Volvo Forums - Volvo Enthusiasts Forum

(or another one more appropriate to your car), and hit 'New Thread'. put the car model and class of problem in the subject for best help ('92 740 stereo wiring?' or '87 240gl won't start' or whatever).
