Default 240 wagon parking light

In my 240 wagon'87 the driver's side rear parking light stopped working -- there is simply no voltage at the red wire. Everything else works: passenger side parking light, as well as break light and fog lights,... Also, it's not the bad connection -- when I cut out old connector, I still didn't detect any voltage. Where should I look next for the potential cause of the problem? Thanks.

Both taiilghts share the same ground. The passenger side feeds the drivers side. Trace your ground for integrity.

I believe that the ground is ok -- seems that it is shared by all lights together, and everyone else works as it should -- break light, turn signal etc work on driver side. It's only the parking light that does not work.. Also, the yellow indicator of light failure is on in the dash panel..

How do I trace the red wire which should have the voltage?

looking at the greenbook wiring diagramsf or a 1987/1988 240....

the wires go through a black plastic tube along the far left edge of the floor of the drivers side that comes up under/behind the fuse panel. The red wire for the left side and brown wire for the right side both go through a 2x3 pin connector near/behind the fuse panel (brown on pin 1, red on pin 2), and connect to the 'bulb out' sensor, which is a beercan shaped thing thats tucked up behind the dashboard and above the steering column. the red/left wire goes into the bulb out can on pin 13, and the brown/right wire on pin 12.

the red wire is connected inside the bulb-out to a white wire on pin 15 that goes to fuse 15, and the brown wire is connected to a grey wire on pin 14 to fuse 16, but if your front parking lights are OK, then the fuses are fine. you should be able to see two white wires and two grey wires immediately next to those two fuses on the side of the fuse panel, thats where the front and rear parking lights are tied together.
