automatic or manual?

 

Sorry.....automatic. Also, when you are shifting the gear selector it feels as though it is "thumping" into gear.

Check the oil in there in the gearbox

 

I checked the level of the tranny fluid. It was substantially high on the "hot" side of the stick while it was "cold" and had not been running. I recently had the oil changed and someone suggested the possibilty of the technician putting oil into the transmission fill. I have never added transmission fluid. The transmission fluid had only the slightest hint of reddish brown to it. If it were severely overfilled or filled with something other than tranny fluid how long might it take for that manifest into an issue? And is it even possible?
