started a few days ago... would not shift out of first, then randomly 15 minutes later as my daughter drove home is caught hard and started functioning normally. Now it will not change at all out of first. I have changed the fluid, checked the kick down cable. I've seen a few suggestions about vacuum lines and such but nothing seems to be fixing this issue.

PLEASE HELP!

UPDATE:

so... it will shift into 2nd but not until just under 40 mph! then, it will only stay in 2nd if you barely touch the gas. if you give it any at all, it downshifts back into 1st.
