Default 240 Won't start

Hello:

New to this forum, thanks for being here.

My 1993 240 will not start (crank) when turning key. If I remove small spade connector located at starter and jumper from there to the larger 12V terminal next to it, she starts. This used to be a very intermittent problem, but now happens all the time. I have already replaced the electronic part of the ignition switch.

Any ideas?

I've never seen and ignition switch fail in the start position and have replaced hundreds at my shop. They always fail in the accessory position. But - have you checked your neutral starting switch adjustment? Loosen cover around shifter and make sure white pointer is aligned properly in park and neutral?

This is from an earlier car - but is the same switch and adjustment.
