Pencil injectors
After removing the no1 injector and giving it an attempt at cleaning the rust and debris out of it, then testing it, I've decided that they're a lost cause. Started ordering replacements today. Going to replace the canister filter as well, since it seems to be allowing too much junk to flow by.
Finally had enough clear weather this weekend to replace the injectors. Still have vacuum leak around the retainer housings because THEY take a larger, thinner O-ring that is not the same as the one holding the injector into the retainer itself. Finally got it cranked up and running on it's own but there are other issues yet. Replaced the canister filter as well, even though it didn't seem clogged up, just a tad heavier than the new one.
Observations on B230 layout:
Nothing is particularly difficult to reach.
Nothing is particularly difficult to source except cold start valves and Chrysler distributors.
Thankfully, these two items are hardy and survive well.

friction is enough to keep the injectors in. To note, how easily did they come out? Also check eBay / Amazon for some options on the o-rings - there may be more than one option for your engine. You didn't mention year/model for your car to verify the correct part numbers.
HA! Got an old Renault I've been trying to get shed of and a guy came to look at it today.... what was he more interested in? the 244 of course. Not ready to give up on Gunnar yet, though
