I have a 1989 240 DL that i got for free, it has been sitting for 3 years. I put a battery in and messed around and got it to start and drove it home 3 miles.

I let i run for about 30 min and it was running smooth and nice. I decided to clean all the mold and cob webs out if it.

I shut her off, then went to restart and nothing, i have all power but it wont turn over. Some times it will turn over but it refuses to start. When it wont turn over at all its like there is no power going to the starter at all. And when i does decide to turn over it sounds like its running real rich.

Im going to give it a full tune up tomorrow, new plugs, cap and rotor, air and fuel filter and look over all the electrical connections.

But does anyone else have any idea why I'm having this strange electronic issue?

Also check and see if the small wire at the starter gets power when it won't start.
