greetings! I'm new here and a novice with Volvos, although I did learn to drive with one... I've just purchased a 91 244 with a TD 613 cassette radio. It shows EEE when turned, although with some fiddling, there is radio reception, but its sporadic, like it is scanning all the time. I'm trying to get the code from a dealer to reprogram it, if they can tell me how, or at best pull it out. How does one do that? I have the trim and stuff of but the unit does not want to come forward more than an inch or two. Is there some magic Swedish trick to get it out? The car was a great price, but it has a really rusted rocker on the pass side and could use a fender there, too. It has an airbag on the driver side, but the SRS lamp stays lit. Annoying, but hopefully an easy fix. Oh, and the SERVICE light comes on intermittently, which I imagine is just a reset type thing? Any help would be awesome. Thanks!

 

The EEE usually means the radio is locked out.The key will have to be left in position 1 with just the radio on.It could take up to 3 hours for the radio to switch to the word code.If you have the car registered go to your local dealer and they can look up the radio code by the VIN#.

If not I think the radio has a rubber grommet on the back that gets stuck sometimes.If you cam check with a mirror and a flashlight to be sure.

 

Dealer gave me the code and all is good. Maybe I will be brave and pull it to have CD, but this is good for now. Thanks for the help, as I know I will have other questions!
