740 heater fan problems

Default 740 heater fan problems

the heater fan on my 91 740 whent so i replaced it a month ago. before and after it was replaced it only worked on 5 the highest setting. it suddenly stopped woking agian. i dont think it is the fan becuase the last fan that died sqeecked alot before it broke and i oiled this one before i installed it. i checked the fuse and it is fine i dont know if it was a relay or not but any help is greatly appreciated.

When a blower fan runs only on high, the ballast resistor has failed. While high fan is better than no fan...often it's only a matter of time before the resistor dies and you have no fan. Sounds like that's where you are!

i am confused as to where this resistor is located. im sure it is this part though so you guys put me on the right track. i removed the glovebox and i was not able to find it.
