740 starting problem
I just had the same problems, from what it kinda sounds like. for me it started to crank hard like it was dead of winter cranking. had to floor the pedal to get it to fire (when cold) and then once warm and would shut off had to do the same thing (when hot). So for me would start hard now cold and hot, but ran fine on highway/ some city.
check your spark plugs, check to see if they are almost fuel fowled (sp). then pull your vaccum line from your Fuel Pressure Regulater (on the fuel rail, by the TB) when I checked that vaccum line for cracks, instead of finding crack was fuel coming out. Where vaccum was sappose to be. My FPR failed and was the problem. if this is the thing, get new plugs depending on how bad they are 10$ and a new FPR 43-60$.
hope this helps.
