I've always loved Volvos, and i have a chance to buy one, its a 1991 740, love the car, nothing wrong with it at all, except for the headroom! I am very tall, about 6'6, and if it had another inch for headroom i'd be sold on the car, but it doesn;t. so is it possible to modify the seat to sit lower? preferabley a cheap solution, i can;t get a new seat, or could i???

 

Was the seat lowered all the way? I ask because when I first bought my '89 240DL, I didnt know the seat was adjustable. It wasnt until I picked up a parts car that came with an owners manual that I realized the height adjustmen was two small levers on the front and back of the seat. I'm not sure if its the same for 740's. Another thing I've heard of people doing, is removing springs from the seat bottom to lower the height.
