Default 740GLE Engine Start Troubles

Hi,

I did a quick search of the forums and it doesn't see anything that matches my case exactly, so here goes.

1990 740GLE. For a while now when the car is at low idle it shakes and once in a while the engine dies and I need to put the car into park then start the car again. Most of the time it'll start, but at stop lights the car shakes and sometimes dies

The other day, I started the car and it went to idle for maybe a second or two, then I shifted to drive and engine died. Put the car in park, tried starting the car again. Started for a second, engine died again. Repeat this another 3 times - was unable to start the car and get it to run.

Any ideas? I have a feeling it might be an issue with the timing belt issue, but not 100% sure. Thought I'de see what you guys think.

Check fuel flow: filter and pressure. Check plugs, wires, cap and rotor, coil wire and coil connections. Start simple then go hard/ expensive.
Next on your list, crank sensor.

you need to start by doing a "tuneup"... not timing belt or fuel issue... is this a regina car, b234?
