I have a '76 Volvo 242DL that I am going to get rid of. I'm wondering what parts would be interchangeable with my '82 Volvo 245DL?

Windshield? A local Auto glass installer indicates that the windshields are not interchangeable. True or a self-interested falsehood? Gas tank? The gas tank was newly installed in 2006. A $1,600 recall proposition. Engine? Transmission? etc.

I'd hate to part with parts that I could potentially use! Anyone know of anyone who could use the parts? Vehicle is located near Rochester, NY.

Your hood, headlights and surrounds, grill and headlight brackets as well as the cis- fuel distributor are worth a good chunk of change. I'd be really interested in the tail lights for my '76. Let me know, pm me!

The mechanicals should all work with the exception of the F.I. system. If you have the three speed automatic I think you would need the driveline from the '76.

Body on the 240 was restyled in '79, but I think it was just the rear end: trunklid, lock, tail lights.
