There's an ad on Craigslist where I live for an '89 780 Bertone Turbo. Car has some issues... Guy says maybe the timing slipped. Being an interference engine... ouch. What do you guys think?

Hard to pass up for $350.

 

if its a turbo - it's non-interference
if its a V6 - it uses a timing chain

cool looking ride - trim parts kind of expensive

 

Ah, thank you Smith Volvo. Tough to discern the problem(s) from the ad. Do they seem to be sought after such that the parts alone would be profitable? 8516 total production looks to be much less rare than the 850 T5-R.

 

Drivetrain is a common b230ft+, like any 760, the trim is NLA, hard to get... Not generally loved car. You can probably get it going, but the rest is the problem.
Non interference motor.
