My aunts n/a 82 DL was working this morning. Now it will not start. This information is being relayed to me from my Aunt who is with the car.
It wont crank, can hear the fuel pump prime, and pushed the distributor cable back down (it was loose). Apparently it wont start when jumped either.
Any ideas?

Give the starter motor a good rap with a broom handle and try it again. Could be the starter solenoid.

 

Also, it had a new voltage regulator installed about two weeks ago.

Does anybody know what fuse may be preventing it from starting?

I agree with the starter as well. If it won't turn over then the starter isn't turning.

 

If it won't crank, then it's a battery or connection issue. My old 1982 244 sometimes wouldn't crank because of the ground connection from the battery to the driver's side wheel well. That contact was corroded. Check out www.stepbystepvolvo.com, "Basics of Diagnosis and Other Hints," for a photo.
