86 740 trouble starting
Awhile back my 740 had trouble starting just kind of needing gas to start (right after someone complimented me on it, of course.) But now the problem seems to be getting worse. Initially thought it was the maf because I had problems with it running rough before. I’ve cleaned it a ton of times but still doesn’t seem to be the answer. It has also died a couple of times at idle mid turn so I thought maybe the intake control valve so I cleaned that but still no dice. Any other options or should I replace these parts as opposed to cleaning them? Car still starts when warm and I’m leaning against a vacuum leak because of how inconsistent it has been. Thanks in advance.
Goldenblock here, regarding the symptoms you mentioned with hard starts
1. Check first your fuel pressure regulator, look/ smell for any leaks in that vacuum line, if so replace it
2. If it persists, I would advise inspecting your fuel pump check valve to see if it is intact.. that will definitely cause your fuel pressures to drop if non working properly!! Main fuel pump assembly
3. If car is cutting off while turning occasionally, see if it happens above 1/2 Tank of fuel, if not could have an inoperable in tank fuel pump.
Any parts you need hit me up on
