Hey guys.

86 740 turbo sedan. Stalls spontaniously while driving, anytime any conditions. I discovered I could hear the fuel pump relay click off when it stalled while driving, I reached down and wiggled the relay and I heard and felt it click back on and the car came back to life and continued driving down the road. I priced out a new relay at a volvo dealership near by and they want $130 for it. Not happening...lol. Going to find of at a wreckers if I can.

Also she idles a little rough all the time. I checked the spark plugs and wires and they are all fine. I read the spark plugs and she's running a bit rich. Is there an idle adjustment you can make on these engines (B230F-Turbo)? Being a honda/gm guy, I'm not familiar with the volvo just yet. But learning fast...lol.

She also missfires or studders a little bit under full throttle operation. the turbo spools smoothly and it's making decent power, it just hiccups a bit. Could that also be related to the fuel pump relay problem?

Any help would be great.

Hmm, fuel pump relay sounds like the signal is being interupted and thenit comes back again,
TPS sensor could do that if you have one, its the sensor on top of the tranny bellhousing.
Run your hand down the wire, the insulation often fails down near the tranny.

It might have nothing to do with the turbo.
