'87 240 climate control not working
A few months ago, the blower fan motor in my 240 stopped working. I examined the wiring coming out of the fan switch, everything looked fine. After I put the dash back together, the fan motor some how started working again. I figured it was job done, but about a week later, the motor quit again, I tried jumping a couple of the wires behind the switch, with the switch still in place, and that turned the fan on. After a while, I removed the jumper wire, and the fan motor continued running. I also had some issues with the micro switch located on the side of the AC control ****. Basically, when the micro switch was open, the fan would run, but if the micro switch was closed the fan would stop. Still not really sure why this was happening. after some more messing around I managed to get the fan motor to run consistently.
A couple weeks ago the motor quit again. The only thing I've tried so far is replacing the fan switch, which didn't work.
btw when the fan motor is running, it sounds completely fine, so I couldn't see how it could be a problem with the motor itself.
If you have any ideas, please let me know.
