Default 87 240 DL Help?

Hi,

This is my first post here. I just got a 87 240 DL from my Grandma, she owned the car since new and everything works like new. It needs a door molding and a good polish. Other than that, the car is immaculate with 119k miles Garaged in California. I am not sure what I'm going to do with it yet, what is this worth?

Thanks,

Jesse

wagons are worth more than sedans. a really clean low mileage sedan, with everything working and all rubber bits under the hood refreshed, I dunno, maybe $2500 ? add 1000-1500 for the wagon in the same near perfect shape. also depends where you're selling it.... bay area and other parts of coastal northern cal, probably somewhat more than inland or southern parts.

Jesse, I think you should keep the car. Your Grandma did a very nice thing in turning over to you a car that she clearly loved and took car of. I'll bet she expects that you would cherish it as much as she did; and thought you could use the car for going to and from college to better yourself, keeping gainful employment, etc. Maybe she is not able to drive anymore, and/or has to move into assisted living; but that was a very nice thing she did for you. Selling it straight off and buying ,say, a ricer with a fart muffler seems to me to be disrespectful to her.
These cars are very reliable, and easy to work on. A good car to learn how to turn wrenches on. Lots of information here and other forums when you do need to perform regular maintenance and repairs. Parts are reasonable or sometimes cheap.

Samber Stag +1

These cars are worth more in your possession than as a pocket full of cash. Seriously.
