87 244 charging problems
Hey guys Ive been messing with this for a long time.
I recently replaced my alternator and battery because i was having charging problems. everything seemed fine until today when my car wouldn't start. I got it jumped and running but the radio and lights started going out gradually so i went to the auto parts store and disconnected my battery while my car was running and it kept running.. I got my battery checked and it was fine, just needed to be charged. Then i had the alternator tested after i reinstalled the battery and it showed that it was not charging.
i dont know much about engine wiring but im assuming that i have a bad connection between my alternator and my battery. Any ideas on how i can go about trying to find it?

Your alternator will not charge unless the ALT light on the dash is functional. To test this, run a wire between the battery + terminal and the male connector on the back of the alternator, after unplugging it from the female plug, the wire closest to the drive's side fender wall. Hook some type of 12V bulb in between-the light will stay on until the car starts, then the bulb will go out, and the alt should kick in... Use a multi meter to check.
