Default '86 240 alternator replacement question

After following the Haynes charging system troubleshooting guide, I ordered a new alternator, but I can't figure out if Bosch drastically changed their design, or the fella gave me the wrong alternator. The connectors on the back are not the same as the original, which had the B+ battery connection, the smaller connector for the dash light, and the ground strap. This new one looks nothing like it - It only has the big B+ and some sort of black plugin slot. Should I take it back and get the PPS brand alternator?

On a related note, my alternator to dash indicator wire is pretty frayed. Can I replace it with a jumper between the two points, or is their some other component along the way that I am missing?

That doesn't look like the correct one ... I would take it back.
