'87 belt diagram
i have an '87 240DL and i have been having some starting problems. i took it to a specialist so they could check out an unrelated taillight problem and they said it sounded funny when it ran. the mechanic opened the hood and told me that my belts are all wrong and that i'm missing one. i've looked for a belt diagram everywhere but i can't find one. i was hoping someone here might have one somewhere.
it seems like when i try to start the car after it has been sitting out in the florida heat or overnight it's not getting any gas. the starter works fine i think, new spark plugs. i smell gas though. not sure. but it'll turn and turn and then out of the blue eventually it'll turn over. i hope someone has an answer before i have to get a new starter.
thanks guys

Can't help with the belt diagram, I've got an '87 740 but the starting issue sounds like either a cold start injector is toast or the fuel pressure accumulator is defecto'. Both would show up as excessive cranking before starting although when recently run, the car would start much easier.

The belts being wrong has nothing to do with the starting problem.
The 240 should go 2 belts on the Alt that go around the water pump and crank.
Then one to the A/C compressor and that should have another on the back side that feeds the power steering pump.
Sorry no pics but I hope that helps.
