Long time lover of Volvo's but have never found a good one until I came across this one. Going to look at in the next day or so. Any thoughts on it? The seller is asking $3300 but I know I can get it for $3K cash.

For some reason I can post the link from a Facebook market place page. 88 240 DL Body, Interior all in excellent shape. Also here is what the seller says. his a well taken care of Volvo that is a strong runner, ready for more miles and a another loving owner. It comes with brand new tires, wipers, starter and battery. The water pump and timing belt have been replaced within the last 10,000miles. Brakes were replaced within the last 6,000 miles. PCV Valve was replaced. New Spark Plugs, wires and distributor/ rotor replaced as well. transmission fluid was replaced along with the transmission filter. Power steering fluid was flushed and replaced with brand new type F. The pesky heater hose has been replaced and leaks no more. Lastly it just had a fresh oil change and fuel injectors got a cleaning. The stance of this Volvo is awesome run with ipd springs up front and newer shocks all around. ipd panhard bar, ipd rear sway link. New drive shaft bushing. We started working on replacing the interior parts after 30 years. So it needs a little interior love, after 35 years.

 

Looks good as far as a couple of pictures can tell... Missing some interior pieces... Miles? Odo working? (most 240 have bad odos)...
Needs more looking into to form an intelligent opinion. Price is not bad if all else is OK--these cars are getting expensive.

How did you make out with the '88 GL? Nice looking vehicle. Did it measure up to the seller's claims?

 

Going to look at it later today. Seller and I couldn't get together the other day.

 

Is it really a GL? GLs usually have a sunroof, tachometer, leather seats, and different wheels. This car has 16" Hydras which are great and are no worse than the GL stocks but raises questions (not that DL vs. GL is a great deal)...
