88 740 for 300$ ya, i bought it
So in a nut shell i bought a 740 for 300$ from a mechanic on the side of the road. I know sounds really sketchy.
It was his daughters during college, now it has been collecting dust. I had not been started in 3 years, but we put a battery in it, a tiny bit of starting fluid and BRUUUUMMMM she fired right up!
Has 222000 miles so it still has some life left.
My question is what is the correct tire size for this car?

should say so on the GVWR sticker on the door frame....
if its got the normal 15" rims, P185/65-15 for a NA, or 195/60-15 for a turbo. if it has the optional 16" rims, like Hydras, 205/55-16 is what I have on my 92 turbo.

Apparently they are the 14 inch rim
I thought 740's usually had front brakes that wouldn't fit in most 14's. maybe that's just the turbo and GLE models or something, then. my only 740 experience is with my 1992 740T wagon, which is really a 940 in pretty much every sense.
