'88 740 Turbo/Intercooler wagon value?
Hello! I wanted to take a moment to see if I might get some feedback regarding the estimated value of a 1988 740 Turbo wagon.
My dad picked this car up a few years ago and it has been driven very, very little over the past 3-4 years. It was a sort of 'errand' car for awhile, but it has just been sitting since my dad passed away about a year ago. It ran fine, but no one has been driving it for some time and when I tried to get it started this past weekend, it would fire and run on starting fluid sprayed into the intake, but didn't continue to run. Honestly, it may just be completely out of gas, but I haven't been able to tinker around with it extensively.
Bottom line, it's just going to sit and get in bad shape if I don't go ahead and sell it, so that's what I'm undertaking. The hard part is finding a value estimate on this machine. All around, it's in good shape as you can see from the links posted below. It's got some cosmetic issues, particularly the head-liner that has gotten wet, but the Connolly leather interior is in pretty good shape -- no major damage at all, and only some 'browning' of the rear seats. The jump seat (also see photos) looks like it's never even been used! Under the hood... same thing. The engine compartment looks like a million bucks. I've also got the maintenance records (all done via dealership in Winston-Salem, NC) back to 4/98 (153,863 miles).
In all this, I've even got the original window sticker, and it appears this thing had pretty much everything from the Turbo/intercooler and heated seats to the sunroof with tilt/slide functions. I have also been told that the engine/transmission combination on this model is probably one of the best ever built by Volvo. Altogether, even in 1988, the sticker shows a price of $26,890.
The question of the day is, what could I likely get for it today, in the condition it's in???
All feedback is appreciated and welcome. Thanks all!!!
Carey

The photo links are dead, looks like the forums automatically trunk'ed 'em.
I've seen recent prices on those things between $1000 and $2000, hard telling without pictures or knowledge of how well it will run. (Get a gas can and put some in, hopefully you can get some motion out of it)
Clean it inside and out, change the oil, clean the engine, and it wont be hard to sell.
Post it on craigslist when you know how much to ask, also, ask high, so you can drop the price, gives us buyers the feeling of getting a good deal.

Trying the links again -- hopefully this'll work!
