Default 89 240 DL A/c Compressor

I just got this car. and im having issues with my a/c compressor. i unfortunately dont have the money for a new compressor (just had a baby), im just wondering if there is anyway to allow the pulley to spin freely without any issues and still have it attached to the compressor. like gut the piece htat is holding the pulley tight until its actuated. let me know. thanks

Even if the comp. is frozen the compressor the clutch should allow the belts to move freely with the AC switched off. Are you having a problem with the belt being seized?

Yeah, whats happening is the pulley is freezing up. and when it does that, the belt starts smoking and just snaps. and with the design volvo made in having the power steering run off the compressor is just blah!!!!

sounds like he clutch has locked up. Try to find one at a junk yard and put it on until you can get a compressor.

I ripped out all the coil of electric connections from the clutch/pulley area. and now it is swinging freely, so i hope that should be alright for now
