Default 89 245 fuel problems and electrical problems revolving around stereo?

Hey there, my girlfriends 240 wagon is having some fuel issues. When the tank is low, it takes 3 or 4 tries to get the car started, and it spits and sputters until finally dying. The fuel pump/filter have been replaced, and I replaced the fuel pressure regulator, which helped a little bit, but has not solved the problem completely. Where else can I turn?

Also, on the electrical side, the stereo turns off at really unusual times. It does not turn on while in reverse, but works if already on and shifted into reverse, and recently started turning off when blinkers are on.

Thanks A lot!

Did you use an aftermarket wiring harness or did you cut and splice?

It was installed professionally, twice. (since first stereo was stolen haha). But, they did say that rear speakers were shorting out of rust spots in the door.

Found out what it was (i believe)! The small wire on the alternator broke, so the battery wasn't charging correctly. I think that having the stereo on and trying to use the turn signals and such were taking too much juice, therefore malfunctioning. Put a new head on the wire and reattached it, and everything seems to be working good!
