Hey guys, I am trying to do the timing belt on my friends 89 740 Turbo Wagon. I need help identifying which engine it has in it so I can get the right timing belt. What is the best way to identify which engine it has? Also, would this engine be an interference engine or a non-interference engine? Thanks

If you are in America it should be a B230FT (2.3L, Single Overhead Cam four cylinder). It is a non interference engine. B230FT should be written on the timing belt cover on a large white sticker in the bottom left corner. Have fun.
