Default 90' 240 Brake lights not working

Howdy, I just bought another 240 wagon and the rear brake lights are not working. I've checked the power through the brake switch. No power at the tail lights, any ideas? The overdrive light also stays on and it's not shifting into od. One last thing, you have to push the shifter to the right to engage the starter. This is what I get for buying a $380 car. My daughter loves it. Thanks in advance,
Chas

Howdy, Well I've answered my own questions. The brake light issue was the "bulb failure gizmo". The overdrive issue was the "overdrive relay". The (starting/pushing shifter to start) issue was a neutral safety switch. Now life is wonderful.
