Default 90 240 drive shaft center support made car quit?

126k miles. On the way home the center support for the drive shaft gave way. As it start to really wiggle on the freeway...it happened very quickly. I thought something was stuck underneath the car. Anyway the car just died at the same time. This has got to be connected right?
any ideas on what could have happened?
Thanks in advance for your help.
