'90 740 Turbo, No OverDrive, suddenly.
Well, it was working fine for a few months, since we put it back on the road, then last week the /\ Arrow on the dash would come on, and kcik down into Drive..out of OD. Then it would go out, and go back into OD.
Pushing the button on the shifter had an effect at the time.
Now, it stays in Drive, no OD at all. The light stays lit all the time, the button has no effect. Ive taken the button out, and apart..it is working. I even touched the wires together, and the light stayed on..
My fuel mileage is dieing right now..
It's a 1990 740Turbo. 151K miles. Automatic 4 speed.
Can anyone help?

Search....................returned 205 records for the term "overdrive" (I only know b/c I asked before I searched)
It's the relay. Pull it out sodder all the connections. I you can't, take it to a TV repair place they can do it. I bet it would be less then $10.00. A new relay is about $50.00

Pulled the big white relay on the far right behind the fuse block...popped the cap, an it had 3 broken solder points. One had gotten hot enough to discolor the circuit board, Im hoping it can be saved...if not, Ill be ordering a new one monday.
Would NAPA or AZ carry such a part?
