Hi, I am new to the forums, I just purchased a 91 Volvo 240 DL and I had a massive coolant leak around the water pump to the point that I couldn't hold any coolant at all a couple days later.

I managed to work my way to the water pump, to the point where all I need to do is get the heater pipe out of the back of it and...I can't. I have been fighting with it for hours but I am not entirely sure how to get this awful pipe out.

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

So I guess my main question is a possibly technique to not utterly destroy everything around the water pump trying to get it out.

 

Well I finally managed it, I just had to wiggle the crap out of it and hope I didn't screw up the heater pipe (why is it even metal?)

I like these forums though and will be back I am sure.
