Default 91 740 dash speakers....????

I have just taken out one of my front dash speakers from my 91 740 4 door. I was planning on taking a look at them and then changing them to some new speakers. BUT i read the guide on how to remove the speakers, but it looks to me that the actual speaker is molded to the plastic houesing. i can see no screws or anything to pop the speaker out. Can any one help me with this?

Are you talking about the Door speakers?

If so I think they are riveted in and will need to drill the rivets out to remove the speaker.

No, I am taking about the speakers on the top of the dash. On the right and left side, not the door.

Yeah, you will see what i mean. Of course i could always get 2 new speakers and just screw them into place, but i like the stock look. Nice and neat.

Are you talking about the Black covers on the dash at each end?

Oh yes please, Also can you tell me if the speakers are 3 1/2in or 3 1/4in or a little bigger?

I want to put some Pioneer in there and in the back. Are they 5 1/4 or 6 1/4 the back speakers on the doors of the sedan?

Thanks!!

Update: Sorry so long. Pop the Black cover off closest to the Dash or like you. Then under the Little cover you will see 2 rivet looking things. Pull the centers up and then the front of the speaker should lift and slide out.

I only got to look but didn't get to remove it.

Tech no rush, but when you get to removing it, you will see that the speakers come out, but they do not slide off the houseing. I have come to my own conclusin that i can put new speakers in the front, but i will not still have the "stock" seemless look on my dash.
