My latch won't open from the outside but does from the inside. I removed the panel cover and tested the actuator, which seems to be working. When unlocking, the actuator makes a click, then a delayed click, which is not normal. It seems like something may have broken off the lift rod perhaps, inside, but I didn't find anything rattling around inside the tailgate.

Any ideas? Does anyone have a parts diagram, so I can see easily all the parts, and if one is missing or broken?

 

If you don't feel any resistance when you pull the trigger, then the finger that pushes the latch has broken off. Time for another, used should be available. It' a complete assembly that you see from the outside including plate lights.
