'92 240 ABS Light on
I had intermediate issues with my ABS light. Previously, when I hit a pothole or similar bump, my ABS light would pop on. Though if I had to stop quickly I still had ABS functioning normally (from all that I could tell and feel at least).
But! Since I replaced my head gasket and disconnected the battery (negative terminal only), my ABS light has been on. I have not had the occasion for my car to prove that my ABS is or isn't functioning.
Recently I tried to check for any codes on the onboard diagnostic tool. I followed the instructions (put the car in KPII, place the probe into position 3, push for >1sec) and nothing happened! I didn't even get a 1-1-1 for no issues. I tried clearing the codes (hold button for >5, release for 3, hold another >5) and nothing still.
So, I suppose this is a multi-part issue:
1. Thoughts for moving forward with the ABS light issue?
2. Any ideas on how to fix or get a response out of my onboard diagnostic?

The diagnostic issue is hard. Short of tracing wires around, which is not ft, I am not sure what else.
Do you have a working ABS now? If yes, all is well, if not, I'd check the individual sensors--usually that's the problem. Or it could be the ABS controller.
