Default 92 240 wagon brake light switch location

okay so I wrote a bunch of the stuff on the forums here last night trying to figure this out I thought I had it all figured out but after I got the lower dash piece off on the driver side and got to looking and everything I have no idea how to get to the brake light switch I got the new part need to put it on so my brakes will work but don't know what I'm supposed to do if anybody could help me out point me in the right direction I'll be very grateful

The brake switch is on top of the brake pedal. Unscrew it and put the new one on.

​​​​​​yeah it doesn't seem to be that simple all the YouTube videos I watch are showing a completely different piece whenever I look up all I see is two pieces bracketed to the brake pedal arm going in through the engine and I don't know what I'm looking at on the other side or where it comes out at I've tried to get a wire through there to give myself an indicator and I just can't get it through... that brass bracket and plunger next to the metal column is what I'm looking at whenever I look at the top of the brake pedal arm there's nothing else attached to it and I don't know where that goes to I've looked for it on the other side of the engine but I don't know what I'm looking for
