Fuse for the turn signal blows immediately when I put the car in reverse...
it's a manual transmission. I can drive the car all day and the turn signals work fine until I put it in reverse. What are the options here? If it's a reverse
light switch, where is it located so I can change it or at least inspect it's connections. Is it possibly a shared wiring problem at the #5 fuse location?
Backup lights have new bulbs but don't work either. I've changed all bulbs to match each other and cleaned the contacts, so I don't believe that's the problem. Any help would be greatly appreciated...not many drivers out there understand good old fashioned hand signals for turning.

 

Sounds like it could be frayed wiring coming from the back-up light switch. The switch is located on top of the tranny, the left side. According to Bentley, the rear of the tranny needs to be dropped enough to get access to the switch. Should be a blue wire coming from fuse#5 to the switch and a black wire from the switch. According to Bentley, that black wire goes through a couple of connectors and comes out as a red/black to the back-up lights.
