Default 92 240 won't start and no code lights

What does it mean when you plug into the #2 diagnostic socket, push button for 1 second and then no blinks at all? It should blink 3 single blinks to indicate there are no codes stored or some other variation of blinks for stored codes but it doesn't blink at all.

When I check the ignition codes on the #6 socket, It does blink 3 single times.

Does this mean the ecu is bad?

The fuel pump will not run but when I hot wire the pump , I can hear the pump running and get fuel pressure in the rail.

Spraying starting fluid the throttle body, the car will run until it burns off the starting fluid.

Also both the wires in each injector clip read 12volts. I thought only one would have 12volts and the other wire would be the switched ground that is triggered by the ecu?

Have you checked the fuel Pump relay?
The injectors will have power at both wires till the ECM grounds it internally.
The fuel pump relay activates the pump and sometimes the injectors to.

I just checked the pump relay(white, in front of glove box). There are two solonoids inside. One clicks when the ignition is on but the other does not. If I push the other solonoid together with a screwdriver, the pump runs but the engine will still only run on starting fluid. The power to the injectors is still constant while cranking so they are not operating.

Is there another relay like in the engine compartment?

Also, what's the deal with having no led blinks while in diagnostic mode for the fuel computer?

The Led thing might be a bad computer or a bad wire.
You might want to try to find a relay to try.
If you jump both connections at the injectors with a light bulb and crank it the light should flash when cranking. If it does then the injectors are working.

Hey tech,

Thanks for your input so far. I used a test light on the injector as you said and it stays solidly lit while cranking. I tried another relay as well and still no go.

What all years and models of Volvos are the computers compatible?

I found a 951 ecu at a salvage yard and she now runs but is putting out a 1-1-3 code for "Heated Oxygen sensor-max enrichment sensed".

Does this necessarily mean it definitely needs an O2 sensor?

Check the O2 sensor with a digital Volt meter and see if it is sweeping.
