Default '92 740 AC Cutoff switch

Hello, guys. I'm trying to get the AC working on my daughter's 1992 740. The tech has determined that the two-wire pressure switch is bad, but we can't find one at the local parts place...They say it's a 'Dealer only' piece. I've found a couple on donor Volvos at my local salvage yard, but the connections have different plugs. The switches look identical in function but the plug on our car won't click into the 'new' switch. I'm just wondering how much difference there can be with the way the switch works. I've always though that the switch itself only 'broke the ground' if the coolant pressure went too high. There seems to be no electrical connection in the working end of the switch. So, can somebody tell me if I can use the 'new' switch as long as I modify the plug so the wires will be fitted. Thanks, Brick

I'd use it without hesitation.
