Default New ignition switch question . Does a new s40 ign switch need to be programmed?
Does a new s40 ign switch need to be programmed in order for the car to start? Is this something I could do myself or does it need a factory scan tool?

On my 2005 it did not need anything special. Just hook it up and go.
