92 Volvo 940gl start problems.
I do have spark at the plugs, RSR was replaced. I know its getting fuel to the "rail" coil is new as well cap n rotor. It just doesnt seem to want to fire off..
May be the MAP sensor maybe???

Getting fuel to the rail doesn't mean that the injectors are firing. Are the plugs wet ?
Thanks again, so I think I found the culprit. I did replace the RSR and still the same no start condition. I pulled the injector rail and visually verified that no fuel is going through the injectors.
I just did a "noid" test on the injectors and they are not getting power.
I would assume that the part of the ECU that controls the injectors is not functioning.
Any advice?

Also I am getting spark, I tested it with a timing light as well as visually. With the RSR being new im thinking it must be the ECU, at least partially malfunctioned via the injection circuit.
I cant find anything else such as a fuse that could be at fault...must be the ECU???

If you look at Daves relay page LINK that I sent you on an earlier post and scroll down you will find the RSR relay and a diagram to JUMPER it to verify if the car will start. Take a look and put a jumper wire in and see if the car runs.
new doesn't always mean good. if you do that jumper test and it DOES start, then your 'new' RSR is no good. if you do the jumper test and still no noid light, then get a volt meter and see if A) power is getting to the RSR and B) power is getting from the RSR to the injectors. one pin on each injector should be connected directly to the RSR, the other pin on each injector is connected to the ECU.
So I did as suggested jumping the RSR, it has power and power went to the injectors when jumpered, also had a noid light to verify injector operation when jumped.
As it stands im not surprised the new RSR was bad bud I still need to give it a shot of starter fluid and then still only runs is i keep my foot on the gas...it sounds good when it runs though..
Im wondering now if its also a bad fuel regulator...pretty much everything else was bad.
Any thoughts?

fuel pressure regulator is best tested with a fuel pressure gauge.
requiring throttle to keep running suggests that there's intake air leaks, and/or the idle air control valve isn't working.

this has got to be my problem with them. So after first figuring out the fuel pump was bad, i replaced it the filter and also drained and replaced the gas (sat five years in w wash.) Worked my way around to all the other components, ignition, relays...still no go. Itl run with start fluid as long as i keep it abv 1500rpm. So im back to the fuel pump as its just not doing its job. This model (Regina) has one -in tank - pump. The parts store sold me the Bosch primer pump that is to be used with an ext pump. Problem solved..be carefull who you buy parts from!
