'93 940 parts compatibility
I just bought a '93 940 for my daughter and the seats are pretty much trashed. I was wondering if the seats for a '95 940 or even a '95 960 might fit in her '93? Found both a a local yard and they were in better shape. She has the power/heated seats and the newer seats have different panels but are heated/powered as well. I want to switch both the front and rear seats so they match.
Oh and maybe the rear window as well, the '95 960 had a good one where her's is cracked.
I did look through the forums and found some similar posts but the models weren't the same. If those are the same it looks like they would but I really wanted to make sure before I sprung for them.
Is there a place that I can look to find these kinds of things out? I'm a 60s Ford guy and my daughter insisted on an older Volvo so I'm in unfamiliar territory here!
Thanks,
Harold

I have late 960 seats in my 1992 740. bolted right in, although I did have to dremel off a tab on the back of the rails so that the 740 trim pieces would go over them.
my car wasn't wired for power seats, so I had to cobble up some juice for the power driver seat.
the seat belt fasteners vary with model, as do the side trim plates, but they are all interchangeable (you might need a pretty hurky sized torx bit to remove the seatbelt ends).
also, there's a couple different size connectors over the years for the seat heaters and power seat power. I swapped stuff around some to make mine happy. if you can, to be safe, swipe the pigtail of the connectors from the donor car, eg, pull up as much of the wire as you can on the CAR side of the connector and hack it off. that way you can splice that onto your car's harness...
some 960's have weird seat belts where the take-up reel is on the outboard side of the seat, you can just unbolt this and remove it, and use your existing seatbelt and seatbelt buckle, routing the wiring through the clips under the seat.
AFAIK, no 7/9 ever had in-seat side curtain airbags, although you probably should double check on a S/V90 (there's an explosive trigger near the outside back of the base of the seat that sets off that bag when the car is hit hard enough from the side to deform the frame...)
