Check engine light came on and ran the diagnosis led do-hickey. Came back with air temp sensor problem.


Can this cause a low power situation when its hot outside and slightly erratic idle?

 

Air temp sensor? No such thing... Unless you mean Ambient Air Temp for the gauge if so equipped although a '93 does not come with one.

Do you mean Coolant Temp Sensor? And that should not cause problems once the car is warmed up and running.
