I have a 93 940GL that is starting to make a screechy noise when reving up and it is intermittent noise. I am pretty sure the noise is coming from the tranny. It has a transmission fluid leak on the lines headed to the radiator, and I plan on fixing that, but so far, the leak has not been too bad, .5 pt a week. I have been putting the correct fluid in it, the IIE transmission fluid that the book recommends. Do you guys have any inclination as to what is going on? Is there a filter that needs to be replaced?

I am pretty good when it comes to 80's and early 90's Diesel VW with a manual, so I am not used to this Volvo yet as to what it needs.

 

I filled up the transmission and it took awhile, but the noise went away.

Does any body know where I can get replacement transmission lines to the radiator from the transmission? I have looked around, and I cannot kind anybody.
