940 cable??

Exclamation 940 cable??

okay so i was under my 91' 940 station wagon trying to figure out how to get my speedometer working and i found this cable that seems to run to the tranny its like a cable that attaches to this metal lever witha bolt thru it any ideas what it could be i will post pics asap working at the moment but i cant find anything about it online thanks for the help.

the speedometer is an ELECTRIC connection to a sensor on the back cover on the differential. it is a twisted pair of wires.

the lever on the side of the automatic transmission is the shift linkage lever, this is push/pulled by a rod from the shift lever.

unless maybe you're looking at the parking brake cables? these go to both rear wheels, and are a classic 'bowden cable' (steel wire in a sleeve, much like bicycle brake cables).
