Default 940 GLE SW, 1998 model, Air Ducts?

Its a very simply question. Hope i will get an answer for it. Well in my subject wagon there are air ducts in door panels / under the driver and passenger seat & at the truck also. What is the main function of these vent holes.
Is it possible that while the air condationer is on, we can get air from them?

Regards

The ones under the seats should be tied with the A/C and the others I think are just like fresh air vents.

Thanks for the info. You mind in telling how they are going to be tied up? I have tried all the options available on the dash to get air from the ducts under the driver and passenger seat, but have failed.

Maybe some pipes have to be connected with the blower fan....

Any help will be highly appreciated

There is piping under the carpet that runs to the vents from the dash.

Can you pl explain step by step as how to approach piping under the carpet. Should i start opening the console under the hand break?

Thanking you in advance

I would start by removing the molding by the door. Then start there pulling back the carpet and working in towards the console.
